COPS ARREST 28 IN RAID IN THREE CITIES

PDEA seize P1.1 million worth of drugs in multiple raids in Lapu-Lapu City, Danao and Cebu City; midnight operation in Danao nets 23 persons

Anti-narcotics operatives caught 28 persons in separate drug busts in the cities of Cebu, Lapu-Lapu, and Danao, seizing P1.1 million worth of illegal drugs.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 operatives arrested Edmund Go, 59, and his son Erwin Go, seizing 22 packs of “shabu” worth P250,000 in a compound in Barangay Sambag 1, Cebu City.

In Danao City, 23 persons were arrested in operations that started at midnight last Tuesday and ended on Wednesday in the barangays of Poblacion, Looc and Tuburan Sur.

Supt. Jaime Quiocho Jr., the city police chief, said they seized 55.5 grams of “shabu” worth P645,000, a Dangerous Drugs Board value.

A .38 revolver with three bullets and more than P4,000 cash believed to be proceeds of illegal activities were the other evidence seized by the police.

The arrested “pushers” were Luditha Gonzales, Alvin Gonzaga, Jhonry Gecolcol, Clifford Bitoon, Junrey Monte, Lloyd Hermosilla, Reynold Camansi, Dulcesimo Mata, Allen Gorre, Bertsenda Juntilla, Jhonny Villaester, Renan Aguilar, Noel Matugas, Lito Cal, Rex Soriano, Alberto Capul and Christian Mata.

Pilar Rosales, Victor Lato, Jazzegi Jopia, Candido Casas, John Philip Hortelano and Mieku Manto were the alleged junkies caught by the operatives led by Insp. Jan Ace Elcid Layug.

Last Thursday, the joint operatives from City Drug Enforcement Unit and City Intelligence Branch (CIB) seized 25.53 grams of “shabu” worth P301,254 in Lapu-Lapu City.

In Sitio Kinalumsan, Barangay Gun- ob, at 10:20 a.m., the operatives led by Senior Insp. Genesis Anniversario caught Lyndon Pozon Leonado, who yielded 25.05 grams of “shabu” worth P295,590.
