18 DRUG SUSPECTS IN 3 TOWNS NABBED

Majority were arrested in five separate operations dubbed as Oplan Limpyo Lacion in Barangays Danglag, Nangka, Poblacion Oriental and Cansaga in Consolacio­n, Cebu.

Police arrested 18 drug personalit­ies, including two former convicts, in a series of operations in Cordova, Consolacio­n, and Liloan last Wednesday.

In the new public market in Barangay Jubay, Liloan, former inmates Justino Rosal Bulfango and Jevon Gala Calderon were caught at 6:35 p.m.

Supt. Randy Korret, town police chief, said the suspects yielded eight grams of suspected shabu worth P94,400, a value set by the Dangerous Drugs Board.

Korret said both suspects have been listed as street-level targets.

Bulfango is a former inmate of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilita­tion Center because of a drug case, while Calderon served time in the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City for robbery.

In five separate operations in Consolacio­n, 15 drug personalit­ies were arrested while two minors were rescued.

Chief Insp. Gerald Ace Pelare, town police commander, said the operatives seized 24 small packs of suspected shabu worth P8,732.

He said the operations, dubbed as Oplan Limpyo Lacion, took place in the villages of Danglag, Nangka, Poblacion Oriental and Cansaga.

The first drug bust happened at 2:30 a.m. and ended at 4:40 a.m.

The arrested suspected drug pushers were Oscar Oroyan Diacor, Noel John Flores Basubas and Eugelito Luna Valle.

The suspected junkies were Ian Kim Goc-ong Mantos, Roshell Vangorgia Sultan, Earl Jan Sanchez, John Boyles Marababol, Rey Joseph Vesagas Mariquit, Ian Felipe Puno Marikit, Jasper Lozada Abellanosa, Nick Matias Kilmare, Iac Retiza, Airish Tolomia, Dave Wenceslao Cartagena and Danaica Jane Abear.

Pelare said the rescued minors were turned over to the town’s social welfare office.

At 11 a.m. in Barangay Camolinas, Cordova, Michael Macan Ycong was arrested, yielding five small packs of suspected worth P1,770.

Suspects will be facing complaints for violating the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /
