TANODS’ ALLOWANCES TO BE RELEASED SOON

Cosap chairman says giving of allowance was earlier lifted after barangays failed to submit requirements needed for its release

The Cebu City Government is now processing the release of the P4,000 monthly allowances of barangay tanods that were suspended earlier, an official said.

In an interview, City Office for Substance Abuse Prevention (Cosap) chief Garry Lao said the suspension was lifted after the barangays complied with their requirements, which includes a consolidated report.

The City has started releasing the allowances of the tanods for the months of January and February last April 6.

“This week, naa na sad tay ma-release. We’re releasing allowances every week,” Lao said.

As of April 20, at least 40 barangays have already received their honorariums for the month of January.

These include Barangays Guba, Bacayan, Adlaon, Cogon Ramos, Sinsin, Kalubihan, Sudlon I, Lusaran, T. Padilla, Pulangbato, San Roque, Taptap, Kalunasan, Pasil, Kinasang-an, Cogon Pardo, Cambinocot, Kasambagan, Hipodromo and Day-as.

Tanods from Barangays Apas, Pit-os Parian, Babag, Mabini, Sirao, Agsungot, Sta. Cruz, Guadalupe, Busay, Bulacao, Tejero, Buhisan, Labangon, Mambaling, Sambag II, Mabolo, Kamputhaw, Bulacao and Pungol Sibugay have also received their honorarium.

At least 40 barangays have also received their allowances for February.

These include Barangays Guba, Bacayan, Adlaon, Sambag I, Paril, Cogon Ramos, Duljo Fatima, Buhisan, Sinsin, Sta. Cruz, Basak San Nicolas, Kalubihan, Sudlon I, Lusaran, T. Padilla, Lorega San Miguel, Pulangbato, San Roque, Taptap, Kalunasan.

Also included were Barangays Pasil, Kinasang-an, Carreta, Sto. Niño, Bulacao, Talamban, Pungol Sibugay, Cogon Pardo, Pit-os, Parian, Guadalupe, Sambag II, Mabolo, Bonbon, Mambaling, Tejero, San Jose, Kamagayan, Hipodromo and Pahina Central.

For the month of March, Lao said the City Accounting Office is still processing the releasing of the honorariums of those that were able to comply with the requirements.

“Update for the month of March: of the 80 barangays, only 42 have submitted their report to Cosap, which was authorized by the mayor’s office to manage their honorarium,” he added.

Lao said most of the concerns in the requirement include the absence of a copy of the daily time records, clerical errors, lack of signature, and that some of the tanods on duty were not in the payroll.
