WHY IS KRIS MAD AT KORINA?
They used to be really good friends and even co-hosted a morning show together. But Kris Aquino seems to have just ended the relationship with Korina Sanchez by taking her gripes public.
Sanchez’s “Rated K” featured Rain or Shine basketball player James Yap, his partner Michela Cazzola and son Michael James. The family is getting bigger as Cazzola is pregnant with their second child.
The feature did not sit well with Aquino especially since there was no mention of Yap’s oldest child, Baby James, Aquino’s younger son.
“Sampal sa mukha ko ang inilabas na feature ngayong gabi nung misis ni Mar Roxas (This feature by the wife of Mar Roxas is a slap to my face),” said Aquino in an Instagram post. She did not mention Sanchez’s name. The post was accompanied by a photo of Aquino with President Rodrigo Duterte.
Aquino started her post by praising Duterte, who won against Roxas in the 2016 presidential elections. This was to emphasize how Aquino supported Roxas’ candidacy despite her belief that Duterte was a good person.
She explained that the reason she endorsed Roxas was that her brother, former president Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” Aquino III, had asked her to support his candidate. “Lahat ng batikos ng dahil sa pagtulong na ‘yon, tinanggap ko (I accepted all the criticisms I received because of that endorsement),” Aquino continued in her post.
This is why she couldn’t believe Sanchez would do a feature on Yap, just days after Aquino made a lengthy post against the father of her child for failing to share in the financial responsibility of raising Baby James.
To be fair, the “Rated K” episode was taped.
“Yes pine-personal ko dahil
binuwis ko ang kinabukasan namin ng mga anak ko ng walang inasahang kapalit (Yes, I’m taking this personally because I risked my future and that of my children without asking for anything in return),” Aquino continued her rant on Instagram. “At ang ganti sa ‘kin at sa mga anak ko ngayon ay binida pa ang deadbeat na tatay (And this is what my kids and I get in return—that the deadbeat father gets featured).”
The 47-year-old ended her post with this: “I apologize sa Kuya ko, humihingi rin ako ng paumanhin sa ninang ko na nanay ni Mar—pero klarong-klaro sa kin kung bakit ang nanalong pangulo
ay si DUTERTE (I apologize to my kuya and to my godmother, the mother of Mar—but it’s clear why Duterte won the presidency).”
Eventually, Aquino apologized to her brother, to Duterte and to Roxas, but not to Sanchez.
For her part, 53-year-old Sanchez chose to stay quiet about the issue.
Instead, she posted a photo of herself on a carousel.
“Life is like a merry-goround. Remember to ride with the eyes of a child and stay happy!” her caption read.
