Curtis finishes London marathon
Anne Curtis is an actor, model, variety show host, singer (she has an album and even holds concerts— soldout concerts at that!)—now add another title to her name: London marathon finisher.
“And I did it! Finished my second world major marathon,” Curtis declared on Instagram, along with a photo of herself kissing her finisher’s medal.
Curtis also finished the New York City marathon, the largest and most popular marathon in the world, in 2016.
“The @londonmarathon was my hardest race,” the 33-year-old actress narrated on Instagram. “The hardest to get into and the hardest for me to finish. Don’t get me wrong, the route is much easier than NYC, but I did not expect the heat.”
She explained that when she reached 20 kilometers at around 12:30 p.m. (London time), she felt dehydrated.
“The sun was beaming intensely and at one point I wanted to give up (I know. So dramatic) but I knew I was running this for a cause,” said Curtis, who was running for the United Nations International Children’s Fund (Unicef ) Philippines. Her running outfit says: “For the Filipino youth.”
“Running with a mission—for the FILIPINO YOUTH. As painful as it was, it helped me power through... I’d like to thank the Filipino community here in London that were on the sidelines cheering me on . ... I’ve read all your posts and I’m so touched by your kind words,” she also said.
Curtis also vowed to return to the marathon once she’s done running the other majors.
