■ P3M WORTH OF MARIJUANA SEIZED IN BALAMBAN

Four persons were caught in separate operations in Naga City, Lapu-Lapu City, and Balamban in the past two days, yielding more than P3 million worth of dangerous drugs.

Alleged marijuana cultivator Joel Gabutin Narvasa, 31, was caught by a joint team from the Cebu Provincial Police Station and Army in Sitio Lacdon, Barangay Cabasianga­n, Balamban on Friday.

Uprooted were 15,308 fully grown marijuana plants and 2,308 seedlings in a farm not far from Narvasa’s house.

Based on street prices estimated by the Dangerous Drugs Board, the marijuana plants were worth around P3.1 million.

At 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Von Dominique Boyles Nombrado, 35, was arrested in Purok Manga, Barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City.

The suspect allegedly yielded 1.55 grams of white crystals believed to be shabu to operatives of the City Drug Enforcemen­t Unit and City Intelligen­ce Branch under Supt. Mark Gifter Sucalit.

The contraband was estimated to be worth P18,290, using DDB figures.

Sucalit said they received reports about the suspect’s illegal activity from residents. Sur- veillance confirmed the suspect’s involvemen­t in the narcotics business.

In the villages of Tuyan and Inayagan, Naga City, two suspected pushers were caught in the morning. Rey Balo Repuella and Stanley Laput Campos yielded 0.30 gram worth P3,540.

The suspects will face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Selling shabu is a non-bailable offense.
