12 drug suspects fall in buy-busts

Twelve persons were caught in separate anti-drug operations in two villages in Danao City and in Pinamungaj­an town.

At 6:25 p.m. last Sunday, Michael Acosta Gomez, 41, and Elmira Badiana Vaflor, 33, were arrested in Barangay Looc, Danao City by a team led by PO3 Phil Restauro and supervised by Supt. Jaime Quiocho Jr., the city police chief.

Seized from the suspects were 0.55 gram of white crystals believed to be shabu worth P6,490, a value set by the Dangerous Drugs Board.

In Barangay Poblacion, at 5:05 p.m., anti-narcotics operatives caught Roque Alcaras Batoon, 30; Donnalyn Peñas Bantiles, 23; Wilmar Ygot, 21; and Jovey Casas Laurel, 37.

The suspects yielded 0.75 gram of suspected shabu worth P8,850.

Quiocho said most of the suspected pushers have been identified as street level pushers, while the others were identified as new drug players.

In Barangay Lamac, Pinamungaj­an, Aljohn Villarin Nalzaro, 22; Keith Magallanes Alfanta, 22; Juvie Luctug Alvarado, 23; Robert Nalzaro Duguil, 24; Jackie Nelmida Mahasol, 30; and Wilbert Mahasol Mancao, 31, were caught sniffing shabu last Saturday night.

Suspects will face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Selling dangerous drugs is a non-bailable offense. /
