Sewage treatment facility

Ibelieve in efforts to develop the Philippines into getting its share of tourists from all over the world. But our planning is very poor and enforcement of laws is very slow.

For example, the easement problem needs to be addressed and inspectors should go out and monitor the construction of structures to ensure these are in the proper place where they don’t encroach on other structures or break any law.If the department that issues building permits do not inspect these structures then it becomes a money collection department, not a department that ensures structures are safe and built in the proper place or property.

Another aspect is the sewage system. After having a septic tank, where does the overflow go? Is it just dumped outside the tank through an overflow line? Or does it have a sewage facility?

Where I was born and raised, sewage from the low land needs to have a sewage system where sewage is treated and recycled to water plants and lawns. Here, they neglect everything and expect good result.

In Boracay, are they building a sewage plant or only leave waste as is until the bacteria count falls into the ocean? Are they building a sewage treatment plant to solve this problem?

As our population grows, this problem will always appear and hopefully waste will not contaminate our drinking water. I also hope we are not too late to address this problem or we might have to learn how to drink sewage water.--Alfred Acopan

Road asphalting spree

We are in the campaign period for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections but why is the Cebu City Government doing asphalting work. Isn’t this prohibited?--Rey Partosa
