USJ-R NABS TWO WINS IN MAYOR’S CUP VOLLEYBALL
University of San-Jose-Recoletos’ Men’s and Women’s squad were victorious in the third day of the Mayor’s Cup Volleyball Open at the USC Main Gym
The University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) won of its matches in both divisions of the Mayor’s Cup Volleyball Open yesterday at the University of San Carlos (USC) Main Gym.
USJ-R beat University of Southern Philippines Foundation in three closely-contested sets in Group B of the Men’s Division.
USJ-R swept USPF with scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-22.
Meanwhile, USJ-R totally outclassed University of Cebu (UC) in three lopsided sets in Group B of the Women’s Division.
The Lady Jaguars crushed UC with scores of 25-10, 25-14 and 2512 to bounce back from a loss to USPF the other day.
In other Men’s Division games, Cebu Province and USC also logged a win each.
Cebu Province easily swept Cebrus with scores of 25-18, 25-13 and 25-16 in Group B.
USC, in the meantime, came back from from losing the first set to beat University of Bohol (UB) in four close sets.
UB won the first set 25-22. But USC got three straight sets – 2523, 25-20 and 25-22 – to win the game.
Today Southwestern University (SWU) faces USC Men’s Division at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Men’s Division match between USJ-R and Cerbrus. USC and Mandaue faces off in the Women’s Division at the 12:30 p.m., followed by USPF vs. Cebu Spikers Volleyball Club and USJ-R vs. MGC-NLCA. /
