1 killed, 2 arrested in Mandaue bust

A buy-bust resulted in the death of one suspect and the arrest of two others in Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City at dawn last Friday.

The fatality was identified as Ronard Miñoza, 21, who was shot by one of the police officers for allegedly aiming a gun at the raiding team.

Minoza is the live-in partner of one of the arrested suspects, Elisa Salino, 22, from Basubas Compound, Barangay Tipolo.

The second suspect arrested was identified as Sherwin Cardijon, 40.

Another suspect, Rey Basubas, 40, eluded arrest.

At this point, Miñoza showed up and aimed his gun at a police officer.

PO1 Ryan Rey Heyrosa shot Miñoza in the chest.

Miñoza was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

The team recovered from the scene a firearm with six bullets and a pack of shabu and drugs paraphernalia.

Seized from Salino are paraphernalia and from Cardijon two packs of shabu.

The suspects were detained while police continue to look for Basubas. /
