In Africa, poverty is wide- spread where 47 percent of the population of sub-Saharan Africa reportedly lived with an income of $1.90 a day, or sometimes, none, according to the World Bank data in 2012 causing severe hunger in different communities.
Poverty, malnutrition, low agricultural production, population growth, and education were among the factors identified that caused the hunger problem in Africa.
One of the biggest challenges in Africa is the serious environmental issue that brings conflict on deforestation, drought, and water shortage that would affect the agricultural production and livelihood.
The INC has established an eco-farming project in Ladybrand, South Africa that aims to help alleviate the concerns of hunger and malnutrition in the area.
