Inthis ever changing technologically driven world, life carries vast responsibilities not only just for itself but also for the milieu where it dwells, and that impacts reciprocally to what it loads and unloads.

Since life shoulders multifaceted tasks, it is, needless to say, that educating it becomes a requirement for knowledge and wisdom acquisition and necessary in the carrying out of its meaning and purpose of existence, whether living falls under the category of haves or of have-nots.

Education is offered for free in public institutions in this country. However, the notion for some of parents or grandparents of getting educated hinder and discourage one from graduating either in the elementary or secondary level.

“No one becomes rich because of education or educating oneself and it is just a waste of time and money” is the common line we hear from those who don’t consider education as important and from those who are distantly located from schools.

This is how education is viewed when public secondary schools are still being built only in some of the places in the province. There, free access to quality education is not made possible.

Now that the government allots more funds for education and builds high schools in many of the barangays in the province, reaching those individuals who are living living in mountain ranges becomes possible, and the percentage of the youth of today who are in school rises.

Though classrooms nowadays are equipped with the latest gadgets to convince the young to go to school, there are still those who cannot afford the act of going to school. Their peers, playing games and other factors are more convincing to them. They then quit and prefer going along with their friends.

To cater to the youths who are out of school, the Alternative Learning System (ALS) was created. This is also designed to further address the concerns and needs of those students whose age doesn’t suit to the grade level they are enrolled in.

The government provides everything for the benefit of every citizen. Due to Asean integration and globalization, our educational system changes and gets patterned after those in other countries so we could not be left far behind by them. Another two years was added to basic education in the K-12 curriculum. K-12 caters to the interests of every student and ensures that he would be old enough upon graduation so that landing a job would not be difficult.

Finishing elementary and secondary education would be easy both for the haves and have-nots. But getting a diploma by finishing a course in tertiary education is very difficult for the have-nots. Their dreams would remain dreams, their hopes would remain hopes, their wishes would remain wishes and they would remain poor.

Nevertheless, realizing everything your plan of getting educated would now get closer to reality if you have the utmost desire to do so,

Tertiary education in state colleges and universities are cheaper and they accommodate your willingness to understand every construct of your day-to-day encounters and help lift your status in life.
