‘I DON’T QUESTION GOD ABOUT THIS SAD TIME’
Shortly after announcing her twin pregnancy last month, Heart Evangelista revealed she lost one of the embryos. Last Wednesday, she said that she also lost the other baby, whom she had already named Mira.
“There are not enough words to express how heavy my heart feels but I know it’s important to share this because it’s part of my motherhood journey,” Evangelista shared on Instagram, along with a photo of a hand delicately touching a bunch of flowers. “At this week’s doctor’s appointment, just as we hit the three-month mark, we found out that her heart stopped beating.”
“For some it might be early on, but for us, we were so ready to meet you, little one. Carrying you made me feel like a completely new person. Just the thought of you taught me what unconditional love feels like,” the 33-year-old actress said of her baby with Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero.
Evangelista said that her doctor explained that a high percentage of first-time moms are prone to lose the baby in the womb—there was nothing she could have done.
She told her fans she was grateful for their positivity and support, and thanked those who shared stories of their own miscarriage.
“It’s not the end, just another chapter,” Evangelista continued. “I take comfort knowing that you’re up there with your twin. I don’t question God about this sad time.”
The actress also said she will be taking some time off the public eye.
“For what it’s worth, I already had a name for you. My Mira, funnily enough, I already loved your smile. I know you’ll find your way back to me,” Evangelista added.
She and the 48-year-old public official have been married since 2015.
The actress shared her motherhood journey on Instagram starting with a photo of her and Escudero showing off an infant’s onesie last May 12. She wrote: “The greatest of blessings all in God’s perfect timing! Our beautiful family just got a little bigger. We can’t wait to meet you little one.”
Five days later, she revealed she had lost one baby.
