Only God can make a miracle

And how can you defend against a foe that is so good in making the one you hated the most—the triple—not to mention him making things happen when his pals were absent?

If there’s anything left in Cleveland’s arsenal for it to turn things around, it would be something out of the ordinary.

That’s the grim scenario facing the embattled Cavaliers in today’s Game 4 of the NBA bestof-seven title playoffs.

To state the screaming scare, Cleveland is 0-3 and just a game away from getting swept.

Your 20 pesos for the Cavs will net you a thousand bucks if the Cavs win.

But will there be takers? Just for kicks, yes. Maybe. Isn’t a sucker born every minute?

The battle is again at Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena and even that seems to not count anymore in the equation—the venue usually mattering historically in every championship showdown

When your back is against the wall like Cleveland, you will hold on to everything, including a 5-6 trap.

When you are in the ropes like Cleveland, you will cling to the last thread of hope, as in virtually selling your soul to the devil.

Now, what will Cleveland resort to if only to avert a 4-0 shutout, right in the Cavs’ own backyard?

Maybe unload its own brand of WMD (Weapon of Miraculous Dimension)?

But only God is capable of a miracle.

And how can you defend against a foe that is so good in making the one you hated the most—the triple—not to mention him making things happen when his pals were absent?

I refer to Kevin Durant, who gobbled up Game 3 lock, stock and barrel with shots from both near and afar.

Durant, Warrior leader Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson were consistently hitting 20-plus in the first two games.

But when Curry and Thompson decided to tag Thursday as their day-off, Durant took their chores to blast home 43 points—a career playoff-high for the 6-foot-11 forward with the knack of darting daggers with ridiculous ease.

With Curry and Thompson down to just 11 and 10 points, respectively, Durant buried 15 of 23 field goal attempts embellished by a 6-of-9 three-point shooting.

So deadly was Durant in Game 3 that he capped his rampage of threes with one from 38 feet away for GSW’s unreachable 106-100 lead with mere ticks remaining in the game.

Can LeBron James jam Durant’s guns with his own kingly ways today?

Maybe yes. But that might merely prolong the agony.

No team has ever climb out of a 0-3 pit to steal a 4-3 win in NBA history.
