Cebuana Morissette Amon sets her homecoming concert this July 14.

This is her first homecoming concert since making a name for herself in the national scene following appearances in TV5’s “Star Factor” (2010) and ABSCBN’s “The Voice of the Philippines” Season 1 (2013). She is also a mainstay on “ASAP.”

“I am both excited and nervous kay it’s my very first homecoming concert—ever since ‘The Voice,’ ever since sa TV5,” Asia’s Phoenix said in a press conference last Thursday. “Very excited ko nga i-share akong journey again sa akong mga kapwa Cebuanos and excited

pud mi sa tanan surprises na

amo idala diri (I’m very excited to share my journey to my fellow Cebuanos, and I’m excited to surprise Cebu),” the 22-year-old singer said.

Dubbed “Made,” the concert was planned by her management team in recognition of her success in the industry.

“It was the decision of the management kasi I feel like someone who’s ‘made’ is someone who has been through so much in his life and then (it) comes to that moment,” Morissette said, explaining the concert’s name.

The Cebuana singer, who is known for her seemingly effortless signature whistles and for exceptionally belting out songs with high notes, was in complete awe when she received compliments from the country’s most successful singer, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez. This happened when Morissette sang Velasquez’s “Pangarap ko ang Ibigin Ka” in “ASAP.” The video of her performance went viral and already has more than a million views.

“I can’t seem to take it in,” Morissette said in a mix of English and Bisaya. “I’m so happy that Ms. Regine is very generous to new artists. She’s very supportive. I’m very, very grateful because I have been singing her songs since I was very young. I’m very honored.

“Morissette is Made Cebu: A Homecoming Concert” will be on July 14, 8 p.m. at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

Tickets are available at TicketWorld outlets and mainly at the Waterfront Hotels.

Expected guests are James Reid and Nadine Lustre, Arnel Pineda and Darren Espanto.

Meanwhile, during the press conference at the Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino Mactan, actor Philip Salvador was spotted. He was there for the inauguration of Mactan Cebu International Airport Terminal 2 in support of President Rodrigo Duterte.
