Bus service soon to ply CSBT to airport route

-

Passengers from the south of Cebu who want to get to the Mactan-Cebu International Airport will be able to catch a bus at the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT).

The start of the dry run for the bus service between the bus terminal and the airport, and vice versa, coincided with the inauguration of the airport’s Terminal 2 last Thursday.

The route will be made regular starting on July 1.

Sugbo Transit Express Inc. buses will ply the route. (Sugbo Transit is owned by Vallacar Transit, which also operates Ceres Liner.)

According to CSBT operations manager Joey Herrera, this service will benefit southern passengers who need to go to the airport and tourists who want to the south.

The full one-way fare is P40, while the minimum fare is P25.

From the airport, the bus will stop at the Island City Mall in Lapu-Lapu City, the Pacific Mall and the Cebu North Bus Terminal in Mandaue City, Robinsons Galleria Cebu and Robinsons Fuente in Cebu City before proceeding to the bus station.

Tourists who want to go to the north of Cebu can get off the north bus terminal, Herrera said.

Four buses are currently plying the route, but three more will be deployed next month.

Operations start at 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Buses will be expected to make the trip in one hour.

According to Herrera, the buses currently stop at the Mactan Export Zone 1 before returning to the bus terminal. After the dry run, though, the buses will go all the way to the airport. /
