THE GREENERY CEBU HOSTS CHARITY PARTY FOR 90 KIDS

The Greenery Cebu also launched a book drive to be distributed to Kasambagan, nearby barangays

More than 90 children trooped to The Greenery Cebu last May 21 as they were treated to a party, which was part of the highlights of the commercial center’s second anniversary celebration.

“It was priceless to see them happy. For our anniversary, we really thought of giving back to community. We are blessed to celebrate our second year and we wanted to share what we have,” said Anna Luna Branzuela, unit manager of The Greenery Cebu.

Branzuela and the rest of The Greenery team thanked the officials of Barangay Kasambagan in Cebu City for supporting their charity event and allowing the kids to visit them.

“We thank Barangay Kasambagan especially Gloriden Lepiten for accommodating us. They made our anniversary celebration a fruitful one,” said Branzuela.

At the party, the kids played various games and they were so delighted to see their favorite mascot of a known fast-food chain performing a dance number.

Other than enjoying the prizes and giveaways, The Greenery also gave the children backpacks filled with school supplies, such as notebooks, papers, and pencils, among others.

“It is about school time and we want to provide them (the kids) at least a few of what they will be needing at school as our token of appreciation for taking part in our anniversary celebration,” said Emily Arenas-Vergara of The Greenery.

Meanwhile, The Greenery also launched a book drive, which is still part of its celebration.

To date, Arenas-Vergara said they have collected four big boxes of donated books.

“We are inviting everyone to drop by The Greenery and donate their old and gently used books. This will surely make another bookworm happy,” said Arenas-Vergara.

“The collected books will be given to our neighboring barangays,” she said.

The Greenery Cebu is a four-storey commercial center on Pope John Paul II Ave., Kasambagan. It features dining outlets, health and wellness clinics, unique shops and creative offices.
