■ CEBUANO KARTER IN 6TH PLACE IN MALAYSIAN RACE
William John Riley Tiu Go takes pole position in prefinal but drops to fourth place among 19 drivers in SEA X30 race in Malaysia
Cebuano karter William John Riley Tiu Go finished fourth in the X30 SEA Race in Sepang Malaysia last weekend. The track was relatively new to the young karter, one of the major awardees of this year’s SAC-SMB Sports Awards, while the rest of his competitors were familiar with it since they live near the race venue. In the overall standings, William Go sits at sixth place among 32 of the best karters in the region after four rounds with 41 points. He trails Nicole Muzawin (44), Adam Mikail (44), Zachary David (101), Yevan David (104) and Limnantharak (104), The race capped a busy month for Go, who also participated in the FIA-AAP Sports Conference in Manila. FIA is the governing body for Formula One. He was the lone Cebuano for the eKarting session supervised by F1 legend Felipe Massa.

Go made the pole position in the pre-final after earning 11 points. He was seventh in the qualifying and was in eighth and third in heats 1 and 2, respectively, to earn 11 points together with Yevan David. Jacob Lautner was third with 12 points.
In the pre-final, Go posted a total time of 9:38.785 in 10 laps, posting a best time of 57.454 to trail David, who had a total time of 9:37.100 and a best time of 57.026.
In the 12-lap final, Go improved on his best time, posting a 56.832 and even beat David by milliseconds after finishing in 11:31:208 to David’s 11:31.373.
However, three others posted better times, relegating the Cebuano to fourth place. Adam Mikail finished first in 11:27:003, while Sitarvee Limnantharak (11:29.35) and Zachary David (11:29.717) finished second and third, respectively.
Go dropped to fourth place due to a technical problem and driving skills, which he is still constantly learning.
