‘Juan Tamad’ syndrome

Ifully disagree with the comments of Mr. Jesus Sievert last June 28 on “Tell it to Sunstar” that blamed God for not doing enough to alleviate the plight of the poor while seemingly favoring instead the already affluent ones. Mr. Sievert, please be reminded of the old adage which says “God helps those who help themselves!” Sorry to say that our poor people will remain poor because they are just plan LAZY while our affluent ones never get tired of trying to reach farther goals. The “Juan Tamad” syndrome is still very much alive among us today!--Monita

Oplan Tambay

Since the police implemented Oplan Tambay last month, I thought things would change.

Ha! Who am I kidding?

But at the back of my mind, I am actually grateful that it hasn’t. And that the police, at least here in Cebu, have so far exercised restraint.--Petpet
