NUEVA ECIJA / CHURCH SEEKS JUSTICE FOR PRIEST

The Diocese of Cabanatuan on Sunday urged law enforcement agencies to bring justice to slain Gen. Tinio Mayor Ferdinand Bote through a fair and thorough investigation. “May our law enforcers likewise maintain orderliness and security in our communities,” Bishop Sofronio Bancud said in a statement read on Sunday. Bote was killed along Maharlika Highway in front of the National Irrigation Administration-Upper Pampanga River Integrated Irrigation System (NIA-UPPRIS) here. Bancud said Bote was killed barely three weeks after another priest was shot dead.
