Barredo, Uybengko win titles
Ronan Barredo and Cynthia Uybengkee ruled the men’s and women’s divisions of the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) Friday Group Weekly Bowling Tournament in the SM City Bowling Center last July 6.
Barredo, a 20-handicapper, had a total score of 871 in a fourgame series to win the men’s division, while the 41-handicapper Uybengkee topped the women’s division after scoring 829.
Chai Mingco and senior bowler Joseph Yu finished in second and third places in the men’s division with scores of 870 and 855, respectively. Ericka Kim and Hannah Bantilan scored 759 and 715 to take runners-up honors in the women’s division.
After scoring 178 in the first game, Barredo put up 200-above scores in the next three games to sneak past 25-handicapper Mingco. Barredo scored 210, 203 and 200 in the second to fourth games.
Mingco actually had the lead in the first game with 238 but failed to sustain the score with 171, 174 and 187 in the next three games.
Uybengkee won the women’s divisions with scores of 158, 177, 156 and 174. /
