Justin, Hailey engaged!
Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin are reportedly engaged.
Fans thought Justin and Hailey’s relationship was just a fling. After all, there are strings of flings between the two of them. On Justin’s side, he had a long-standing on-and-off relationship with Selena Gomez and flings that included reality star Kourtney Kardashian, actresses Nicola Peltz and Paola Paulin, and a slew of models: Sofia Richie, Chantel Jeffries, Miranda Kerr, Baskin Champion and Barbara Palvin.
Fans were blindsided by the 21-year-old model going back to the 24-year-old lothario when she famously walked the Met Gala red carpet with singer Sam Mendes last May—they reportedly started dating last year. The other men linked to Baldwin were 5 Seconds of Summer’s Luke Hemmings, basketball player Jordan Clarkson, YouTuber Cameron Dallas and singer Drake.
According to TMZ, Justin popped the question last Saturday in the Bahamas. At a restaurant, Justin reportedly asked his security to tell people to put their phones away because something special was about to happen.
Justin reportedly proposed in front of the other diners.
The two rekindled their romance last month after dating briefly at the start of 2016.
Justin, in a 2016 GQ interview, explained that while he loved Hailey, he could not commit to the relationship.
“I know that in the past I’ve hurt people and said things that I didn’t mean to make them happy in the moment,” Justin said when asked about Hailey in that interview. “What if Hailey ends up being the girl I’m gonna marry, right? If I rush into anything, if I damage her, then it’s always gonna be damaged. It’s really hard to fix wounds like that... I just don’t want to hurt her.”
It seems like all familial parties approved of the relationship.
Actor Stephen Baldwin, Hailey’s father, in a now-deleted tweet, confirmed the engagement: “Sweet smile on my face! Me and wife (Kennya) always pray for God’s will! He is moving in the hearts of JB & HB. Let’s all pray for His will to be done.” Stephen tagged Justin’s parents Jeremy Bieber and Pattie Mallette.
Jeremy made his own social media post, sharing a photo of Justin on Instagram with the caption: “Proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter!”
Mallette, for her part, tweeted: “Love Love Love Love Love Love Love.”
