SWAT MEMBER SHOOTS OWN TOE DURING TRAINING

-

A police official from the Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat) of the Cebu City Police Office was rushed to the hospital after he accidentally injured himself during a training in a firing range in Barangay Tawason, Mandaue City. The police officer, identified as Senior Insp. Miles Damoslog, was performing a transition on a malfunction drill from rifle to pistol when his firearm reportedly went off, hitting his second toe in his right foot last Monday afternoon. “Forty of our personnel underwent a refresher course. It was accidental firing by a 9mm. It was unavoidable because the safety lock of the Glock is not easy to see,” said Chief Insp. Stanley Sabang, Swat chief. Some officers from the City Mobile Force were recently reassigned to the Swat team. Sabang said the course has two sessions conducted by an instructor from the United States.
