‘Marijuana Queen’ who supplies to vape makers falls

-

The police received reports that some electronic cigarettes sold in the market contain marijuana extracts.

Cebu City Police Station 2 Chief Maria Theresa Macatangay said this was the information divulged by Junemar Magbasa Cabahug after his arrest in a drug bust in Barangay Tejero at 4 a.m. yesterday.

Macatangay said the dried marijuana leaves are cooked to produce oil.

After his arrest, Cabahug yielded four kilos of dried marijuana leaves and seeds worth P480,000, based on estimates of the Dangerous Drugs Board.

In another operation yesterday, the Cebu City Police Office-City Mobile Force Company uprooted 300 fully grown marijuana plants worth P240,000 in Sitio Mapa, Barangay Tagba-o, Cebu City.

The police was not able to arrest or locate the cultivator.

In Cabahug’s case, the suspect allegedly sourced his supply from a mountain village in Danao City.

Macatangay said Cabahug admitted he supplies to vape makers who cook marijuana to extract oil, which is then mixed into the solution used in electronic cigarettes.

The suspect allegedly started his illegal drug activity in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City four years ago.

His neighbors in Kamputhaw call him “Marijuana Queen” because of his popularity in the area among clients.

He allegedly transferred to Barangay Tejero and continued his business there after learning that authorities were looking for him.

Cabahug will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
