JoshLia finally gets soap

-

After starring in four movies together, Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, collectively known as JoshLia, are finally getting a soap.

It was recently announced that the 21-year-old daughter of actors Marjorie Barretto and Dennis Padilla will be starring in “Ngayon at Kailanman” with 20-year-old Garcia.

“I think it’s been my dream for Joshua and I to do a soap opera,” Barretto told ABS-CBN News on Monday. “I’m so happy na ang gagawin namin (that what we will be doing) is a classic love story. Langi’t lupa (heaven and earth), forbidden love, parang (like) Romeo and Juliet.”

In the series, Garcia will play a rich guy while Barretto will be a poor maiden. “Kinakabahan ako kasi siyempre hindi mo pa alam ang reaksiyon ng tao sa bago naming characters (I’m really nervous because I don’t know how people will react to our characters),” said Garcia. “Pero malaki ang tiwala ko sa Star Creatives na gumawa ng istorya, especially sa writers; napapansin

ko na inaalagaan kami. The way namin ina-arte mabusisi kasi mahirap talaga. Especially sa akin, hindi ako inglisero,

napapa-English ako (But I trust Star Creatives to create a story, especially the writers; and I notice they take care of us. Our acting is very meticulous so it’s really difficult. Especially for me. I don’t really speak English and now I have to).”

Barretto, as the daughter of Marjorie, is known for being comfortable with the English language.

Garcia and Barretto have starred in four movies together since 2016: “Vince and Kath and James,” “Love You to the Stars and Back,” “Unexpectedly Yours,” and most recently, “I Love You, Hater” with Kris Aquino.
