Indoctrination in time of technology

Good luck! That is all I can say. In a world that is connected to everything, whether good and bad, indoctrination will be close to impossible to do.

There will always be someone there with ample knowledge, there will always be something shared that debunks, and there will be someone, somewhere with a mobile phone ready to upload fraud and malpractices.

Like Catholic priests using the pulpit to rally against the government and its proposed federal form of government.

With eyes and ears all over, there is always someone out there ready to record and expose, and that creates an environment where those claiming to be righteous have no other choice but to really be righteous or else be exposed for the fraud that they are. Thus, indoctrination in the time of social media is good.

For through this age, those who choose to follow the path of righteousness are judged by all, and the declaration as righteous comes not from the one who claims to be righteous but from the ones who sees a person to be righteous. But then, Jesus Christ said it is never easy.

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

“Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them.” -- Matthew 7: 13-17

I laugh. No, I guffaw from the bottom part of my tummy. But of course, we are familiar with how the friars used the pulpits and how the pulpit continued to be used for centuries hence. Except that, there was no social media then and information can easily be repressed.

In those days they say, dead men tell no tales. In this connected word, such is not longer the case. While the dead may no longer speak, there is the chance that someone else was there, or that CCTV was recording, and yes, that DNA. Thus, that adage is no longer absolute.

There are way for a cadaver to speak. So we move forward, a few verses to Numbers 21-23 and read about the “True and False Disciples,” and I laugh.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”

This is a weekend of laughter, of lightheartedness, and enlightenment as in this world of technology where we get to see what’s happening far away from us even without the media there, choosing which facet of truth they want us to see, we get a glimpse of the truth, and we laugh while we read the Bible.
