FLI WELCOMES CALL CENTER CITY

The proposed project will house a school and business process outsourcing companies

-

Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) welcomes the development of a Call Center City at South Road Properties (SRP). Being the pioneer investor in SRP, the company believes that this plan by Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña would address the increasing unemployment rate and further strengthen the call center industry; more importantly, it is seen to further boost SRP’s image as the new investment and lifestyle destination in the city.

The proposal is for a complex that houses schools, business process outsourcing (BPOs) companies and dormitories. This way, students who are working in BPOs don’t need to travel far to go to school, work or home.

Tristan Las Marias, Filinvest senior vice president for Visayas-Mindano cluster, lauds Osmeña’s plans.

Las Marias further said that aside from the Call Center City, Filinvest also looks forward to the upcoming infrastructure projects that the city has lined up for SRP. The construction of the SRP-Pardo Road and the internal roads along the Filinvest and Cebu City joint venture area will improve access and support the development of Mayor Osmeña’s planned Call Center City.

Las Marias also underscored the importance of having public transportation to and from SRP

not just for future call center employees but for existing residents and locators as well.

“We look forward to seeing this happen in the near future together with the planned BRT (bus rapid transit). We hope that these projects will be earmarked for the city’s budget next year,” said Las Marias.

Aside from this, Las Marias noted the need for high-speed connectivity by establishing a strong telecommunications backbone at SRP.

“This is an important factor that can be improved at SRP. We are aware that the city administration is conscious of the needs of SRP to be equipped with highspeed internet and telecommunication lines, especially with the planned Call Center City. We hope and trust that all these needed infrastructures will soon be available.”

Filinvest is a proud Joint Venture partner of the Cebu City Government for the City di Mare project, a premier, urban 50-hectare development and the largest master-planned coastal township located at the SRP. It is home to residential clusters San Remo and Amalfi and Il Corso, the only waterfront lifestyle strip in Cebu that will offer a wide range of retail brands, and best culinary and leisure options for the ideal shopping and recreation experience.

With the upcoming Call Center City, we believe that we will be able to provide the impending demand for rental accommodations near workplaces from a ready market of BPOs.
