-

As part of its 449th founding anniversary celebration, the Cebu Provincial Government invites everyone to visit the Capitol Social Hall and Dome for a travel fair dubbed “Cebu Journeys” on Aug. 28 to 30.

A total of 22 booths made from native materials will be set up, with the participating Cebu towns and cities showcasing their attractions and selling local products and travel packages.

Visitors will discover the attractions and destinations of participating localities, book tour packages, and earn the chance to win raffle prizes.

Cebu Provincial Tourism Officer Joselito Costas said the travel fair is a way for the Province to articulate its Six-Key Development Agenda, by recognizing the role of local government units and communities in tourism and countryside development and tapping them as part of the celebration.

“It gives more significance to the observance and importance to the towns, whose contribution to the success of Cebu could not be downplayed,” he said.

Among the objectives of the activity is to provide a venue for the people to know more about the destinations and local products and produce of the different towns without the need for them to travel far, thus cultivating awareness on and appreciation of the beauty of Cebu.

The travel fair is highlighted by an exhibit of LED walls, showing Cebu destinations and accomplishments in Cebu tourism.
