-

The number of awards hauled by teen drama “Riverdale” is a clear indication that it is the choice among teenagers.

“Riverdale” took home 10 awards at the 2018 Teen Choice Awards including choice drama TV show. Two of its lead stars, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse, were the choice TV actors, and the reel and real-life couple also took home choice liplock and choice TV ship. Sprouse was also the choice male hottie.

Other “Riverdale” wins include choice TV villain for Mark Consuelos, choice hissy fit for Madelaine Petsch, and choice breakout TV star and choice scene stealer for Vanessa Morgan.

“There’s a lot of great shows, so we feel really grateful to be up here,” said K.J. Apa, who plays Archie Andrews. “We started the show two years ago, and I think we’re all kind of surprised about where the show has gone and how it’s been accepted... Thank you guys so much for watching the show. There’s a lot of bits and pieces that go into these things, but you guys are the most important. Thank you.”

One would think that Robert Downey Jr.’s Oscar nomination in 1992’s “Chaplin,” would be his greatest achievement—but no. His win for choice action movie actor gets that honor.

“I’ve got to tell you, this is such a big deal for me. It’s probably the most significant achievement of my career,” Downey, who won for “Avengers: Infinity War,” said in a taped speech. “Without you, I’m nothing. With you, I’m a small yet integral part of the cinematic universe known as Marvel.”

Downey’s “Avengers” co-star, Chris Hemsworth, won the same award for the science fiction category. Hemsworth, who turned 35 last Saturday, accepted the award through FaceTime with Choicey the Panda.

“Choicey! Hi, mate! Listen, thank you so much for this award. Please tell all the fans how appreciative I am. This is fantastic!” said Hemsworth. “You know what? As a big thank you, I’m going to give you a couple of spoilers for ‘Avengers 4.’”

However, the FaceTime kept getting interrupted just as Hemsworth was about to say something significant: “You and your friends could keep this secret, OK? First one is Thor has a new weapon in ‘Avengers 4.’ It’s this thing (interruption)... The other secret is the movie is going to be called (interruption)...”

The actor continued: “I can’t thank you enough. I can’t thank the fans enough. This is brilliant, and I wish I was there tonight with you all. I’m sorry...” Then the actor shouted: “Thanos! Stop killing my friends!”

Among the winners, it was Zac Efron who trended on Twitter, though. He won choice drama movie actor for “The Greatest Showman,” which won choice drama movie. He and Zendaya also won choice collaboration for the song “Rewrite the Stars” and for choice movie ship.

“What’s up? Is this on? Yo, uh... shoot. Um, where do I even begin? I just want to say, honestly, thank you. Thank you. Like, from the bottom of my heart, the smiles of my heart just got me,” Efron said while putting his bromance with co-star Hugh Jackman on display by thanking him: “From the bottom of my heart, I couldn’t ask for a cooler, more amazing person to work with. He’s my best dramatic actor—and a hero, and a mentor, and a good friend. Thank you, Hugh Jackman.”

To Zendaya, Efron said: “Look what we did! We rewrote the stars!”/
