Company wishes to open between 12 and 14 stores every year; seven more to open in 2018

-

brand Anita’s Home Bakeshop Inc. is celebrating 50 years of home-baked goodness this year. To mark this milestone, tasty treats and exciting promos await its patrons.

There’s a 5+1 promo for all hot bread variants in all Anita’s stores until Aug. 31. Customers who were born in August will be given a free mini cake every day until the end of this month. The first two customers present an ID and purchase items worth at least P100 will get the free cake of the day.

Other activities for this monthlong celebration are the Battle of the Bakers, Cake Decorating Contest, an outreach program, and an exhibit at SM City Cebu. Those who were born on Aug. 23 were also given birthday cakes that day.

Anita’s was established by Anita Cabinian, a former math teacher whose passion for baking was sparked by her aunt who taught her to bake at home. With a small oven and a handful of ingredients, she opened her first bakeshop in 1968. Since then, Anita’s has been the go-to bakeshop for freshly baked breads, with the Spanish bread as its claim to fame.

“It was just a hobby. I never thought it would grow this big and last 50 years. We had very humble beginnings and we slowly grew the business,” said Cabinian in a press conference last Aug. 14.

General manager Benjamin Cabinian added that the brand prides itself in its sales and service, the quality of the products, and the stringent food safety standards.

At present, the company has 22 existing outlets all around Metro Cebu. Seven more stores are expected to open this year.
