Off-site payments for disconnected water connections available: MCWD

-

Starting Aug. 15, customers of Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) with disconnected service connections may now settle their bills online or in some offline payment centers.

This is an effort of the water district to make processes easier for its customers who may wish to settle their bills after office hours, on weekends and even on holidays and get a reconnection processed right away, said MCWD in a press statement.

“We’re a service-oriented water district and we will come up with more programs like these for the benefit of our customers,” said MCWD general manager Jose Eugenio B. Singson Jr.

At present, payments for disconnected service connections have to be made in MCWD’s main office, which is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays to Fridays, or in online payment centers.

“We have listened to the requests of customers who wanted to pay but could not make it to the regular office hours,” said Customer Services Group officer-in-charge Lian Balbuena.

“With our partner Third Party Agents (TPAs) which are online, customers with delinquent accounts and whose service connections were disconnected can pay anytime and the reconnection of their service connections can be scheduled immediately.”

These are MLhuillier Colon in Cebu City and Tabunok branch in Talisay City, Global Pinoy on Gen. Maxilom Ave., Cebu City and Guadalupe Cooperative’s main and Tabunok branches.

Other TPAs that are online are the post offices of Mandaue (City Hall and Wireless), Talisay, Consolacion (Municipal Hall), LapuLapu and the Cebu Central Post Office in Aduana.

MCWD’s other TPAs that are not yet online but can accept payments for disconnected service connections are EC Pay Group, like 7 Eleven Stores, Gaisano Bros. stores, Metro Retail Stores Group, Prince Warehouse, RD Pawnshop, Fooda Saversmart, Gaisano Grand, HLhuillier Pawnshop, Prime Asia Pawnshop and Gemmary Pawnshop and Jewelry, among others.

Some CIS-Bayad Center members also accept such payments.
