Cebuana beauties compete for a purpose
Fifty-four beautiful Cebuanas from the different towns and cities of Cebu will contend for the five crowns of this year’s Binibining Cebu. The official candidates were presented last Aug. 24 at the Mountain Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City Cebu.
Candidates ravishingly walked on stage with confidence as they proudly represented their respective towns or cities. Apart from beauty, the lovely ladies proved they also possess the wit in answering questions during the open forum.
Numbers all life backgrounds. Six among the candidates were single mothers, breaking the stigma by pursuing their dreams without any hindrances. This year, two crowns were added to the existing titles: Binibining Cebu Heritage to promote the rich culture of Cebu and Binibining Cebu Ecology to strengthen the preservation and protection of the environment.
But at the end of it all, only one Cebuana will stand out and be crowned as Binibining Cebu, promoting the beauty, heritage, culture and commerce of the towns and cities of Cebu.
The pageant aims to provide platforms for outstanding Cebuanas to promote Cebu’s special contributions to the world. The winning candidate will engage in various social, educational, cultural and humanitarian activities during her reign not just in Cebu but also in the other parts of the country through the Binibining Sugbu Charity Foundation Inc.
The reigning binibinis— Binibining Cebu Apriel Smith, Binibining Cebu Tourism Samantha Lo and Binibining Cebu Charity Maria Gigante— graced the event. The three binibinis agreed that the prestigious pageant will test the ladies’ professionalism and their purpose.
The Binibining Cebu 2018 Grand Coronation Night will be on Oct. 19 at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
