■ CITY HALL ON CCPO’S REQUEST: JUST DELAYED, NOT FORGOTTEN

-

Although there were delays in the release of some assistance to the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), a Cebu City Hall official said the City Government is acting on it. The City’s peace and order program head, Kevin Chister Paz, clarified that the acquisition of the office furniture the police requested has yet to be processed, but they did not forget

about it. “Maybe this year, probably ma-pursue na. The cause of delay is that last year, skin and bones ang atong budget, wala tay capital outlay. Karun naa na man tay capital outlay nga mahatag

sa ilaha,” he said. Paz said they already turned over around 60 hand-held radio units last January to three police stations. Another 42 units were supposed to be given to the police, but Paz said that CCPO Director Senior Supt. Royina Garma requested the City to hold on to them while they sort out concerns on compatibility with Camp Crame’s equipment. Paz also denied that the police’s fuel allocation was limited. “Actually, naa na tay gi-allocate na fuel for the whole month of September nila. Kailangan na sila mo-submit og request if magkulang ilang allocation para makwenta ang gas kung pila ilang na-consume that month. Di man sad mi makahatag og refuel nila if wa silay report for the past month,” he said. Earlier, CCPO deputy city director for administration Supt. Artemio Ricabo said that some of the City’s assistance to the CCPO was nothing but promises.
