POP DISTRICT MAKES ‘BEST WEEKEND’
Great finds, great music await Cebuanos at bazaar
To celebrate its third anniversary, Pop District Bazaar brings “The Best Weekend Ever,” a backto-back celebration with Bisaya Music Festival this Saturday and Sunday at the Oakridge Pavilion.
Pop District Bazaar is a food and lifestyle bazaar that has been promoting local, online and start-up businesses since it began in 2015, striving to help educate starting entrepreneurs with the basic skills they need to compete in the bigger market by giving them a platform to physically reach out to a potential clientele.
This year, Pop District Bazaar will showcase 100 different local products with an outdoor dining area and an avenue to shop pre-loved items from local influencers and a chance to meet and greet its featured influencer from Manila, Joyce Pring, for two days from noon to 10 p.m.
Along with the biggest bazaar on Sunday is the launching of Bisaya Music Festival, a community gathering of Bisaya artists and musicians who share the same vision of bringing Bisaya culture to the mainstream.
The event does not only showcase Bisaya music but also films, rap battles, prose poetry, and the finals of Kanta Kasingkasing, a song writing competition. Kanta Kasingkasing will be organized by Kadasig, a local cooperative supporting Bisaya songwriters to celebrate Bisaya identity, orientation and expression.
Between 1 p.m. and 2 a.m., one may witness powerful Bisaya performances from Urbandub, Junior Kilat, Mandaue Nights, Kurt Fick, Wonggoys, Medyo Maldito and more.
Tickets are available at Island Grill of the Ayala Center Cebu, Hala Paella at the Banilad Town Center, Le Gab at Raintree Mall, Parkmall, Sugbo Mercado, Handuraw Pizza–Mango and online via http://ticket2me.net.
