DOJ puts up P500T reward for info on Peter Lim’s location
Any person who can give information that will lead to the arrest of alleged drug lord Peter Lim will receive a P500,000 reward, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced yesterday.
“The government is ready to give a reward of P500,000 to anyone who can give information on the exact whereabouts of accused Peter Go Lim, provided that such information will lead to the actual arrest of said fugitive,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said.
Guevarra warned Lim’s coddlers that they could face charges for obstruction of justice if they continue to help the Cebu businessman.
Background
The Makati Regional Trial Court issued last Aug. 14 an arrest warrant against Lim for conspiracy to commit illegal drug trading under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The court also issued a hold-departure order to prevent Lim from leaving the country.
The case against the businessman stemmed from a complaint filed by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) against Lim and the group led by self-confessed drug trader Kerwin Espinosa that operated drug trading in Central and Eastern Visayas.
The PNP-CIDG said Lim is the Espinosa group’s drug supplier, an allegation that Lim repeatedly denied. /
