Rich Catsup bags rich purse in team contest

Team Rich Catsup managed to keep its lead in the fourth and final round and win the 4th Rich Sweet & Spicy Banana Catsup Tenpin Bowling Invitation­al Tournament last Friday at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center.

After stealing the lead in the third round, Team Catsup continued to play at the same level and scored 803, 841 and 798 in the fourth round to finish the team tournament with a total score of 9,978.

Rich Catsup bagged the P20,000 cash prize for winning the month-long event organized by Cebu Tenpin Bowling Associatio­n (Cetba).

The San Remigio Beach Club carded a total of 9,932 to take the second place honors, while the E.O Bucoy Consultant­s 2 accumulate­d a score of 9,822 for third place.

The San Remigio Beach Club won P15,000, while E.O Bucoy Consultant­s 2 won P10,000.

Completing the Top 10 teams were Chanieka (9,363), D’ Unli Team (9,267), RRCC&J Team (9,164), D. Underdog (8,979), E.O. Bucoy Consultant­s 1 (8,593), Cetba Juniors II (7,876) and Cetba Juniors I (7,774).

Senior bowler Joseph Yu (231) won the highest individual score for male bowlers in the fourth round. Roland Bantilan (237), Ronan Barredo (224) and Nestor Longcanaya (236) were the individual winners in the first three rounds.

Ramilie Gonzales (181) took the individual plum in the women’s division with 181. The winners in the first to third round were Emi Osada (218), Janice Calibugan (196) and Cynthia Kua (180).

The E.O Bucoy Consultant­s 2 (884), meanwhile, won the highest team single score for the final round. /
