Sun Savings opens 5th branch
Even though the economy is facing challenges such as rising inflation and foreign exchange depreciation, Sun Savings Bank continues to grow in a steady and diligent pace with a newly opened branch up north.
Sun Savings Bank’s newest branch in Sands Gateway Mall in Danao City, directly beside the Danao-Camotes Ferry Terminal, opened on Tuesday. The seven-year-old bank has four other branches--Talisay City, Fuente Osmeña in Cebu City, Mandaue City and Carcar City.
Sun Savings Bank opened its first branch in Talisay City in June 2011.
After decades of working as a professional in the banking industry, president and chief executive officer Francisco A. Dizon thought it was time to start a new chapter in his career.
“I wanted to start a banking institution that I could control. It was time to do something on my own,” he said.
At 68, Dizon has 43 years of experience under his belt in different facets of banking--investment, thrift, commercial and universal banking. He also served as chair- man of the board of the Philippine National Bank and the president and CEO of RCBC.
The bank’s branches are pinned in key locations of Cebu—thriving areas with a great pool of potential clients to serve. “These are where our target market is,” explained Dizon.
Sun Savings Bank’s niche are car and home loans and business loans to small and medium enterprises.
One of the bank’s thrusts is its agricultural-lending initiatives, supporting a broader spectrum of the agricultural value chain. They proCebuanos financial aid, not just to those who grow and cultivate crops, but those who deliver and sell them in commercial areas.
Looking forward, Sun Savings Bank is set on integrating technology to create a new experience for clients.
“We want to grow through online banking, not by opening a branch in every corner.” The company is set to make a foray into digital banking with the launch of its mobile application in the near future.
One of Sun Savings Bank’s most popular products is the Five
Years and One Month Time Deposit, which comes with a tax-free six-percent interest per annum. In the next six months, Sun Savings Bank is set to open two more branches. /
