Warriors dominate swimming

The University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors captured the overall titles in the collegiate level, while the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHSAdC) Magis Eagles and University of Cebu (UC) Junior Webmasters also made their presence felt in the secondary division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) swimming tournament at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).

The Warriors won the overall titles in both the men’s and women’s divisions. The USC men’s team garnered 12 gold medals, 10 silvers and five bronzes to win the overall crown.

UC finished at second place with four gold medals and three bronzes, while the University of Visayas (UV) Green Lancers were at third place with three golds, five silvers and five bronzes.

The USC women’s team was unconteste­d in the distaff side and finished the tournament with 19 gold medals and 15 silver medals.

SHS-AdC, meanwhile, bagged the boys’ secondary overall title after accumulati­ng 12 gold medals, 11 silvers and three bronzes. USC finished at second place with one gold, six silvers and seven bronzes.

UC took the girls’ division overall title with seven gold medals, four silvers and four bronzes. The Magis Eagles settled for second place with five gold medals, 10 silvers and three bronzes.

Razel Cabajar of USC was the most bemedalled athlete in the women’s division with five gold medals, while Ron Jeyc Fuentes, also from USC, was the winningest in the men’s division with four gold medals and one silver.

In the secondary level, Karen Mae Indaya of UC captured four gold medals and one silver in the girls’ class and Kent Franzen Cagape of SHS-AdC had four gold medals in the boys’ division. /
