Tejero plans to donate lot to police

-

Barangay Tejero, Cebu City has mulled the possibility of donating a lot where a police station can be built.

Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 spokesperson Supt. Reyman Tolentin said they welcome the plan of Tejero Barangay Captain Hermogenes Galang Jr. and his councilors.

Tolentin said the officials believe the presence of police in their village may help solve its illegal drug problem.

He said that if the construction will push through, Cebu City Police Office-Station 3 will be transferred to Tejero from its present location in Pier 1.

“Hopefully it will push through because it will help Tejero,” Tolentin said.

Last week, three sisters, called by the police as “Tres Marias,” were caught in a One-Time, BigTime operation of the PRO 7.

PRO 7 Director Debold Sinas earlier said they are investigating some government officials who may have links with the suspects.

Galang and five councilors visited Sinas last Tuesday to clear their names. They were subjected to a drug test, including their companion, former Tejero councilor and current Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse Prevention chief Garry Lao.

Two barangay officials, including Councilor Jessielous Cadungog, were not present.

Cadungog was tagged by Sinas as a drug personality following the fatal shooting of PO3 Eugene Calumba by Cadungog’s bodyguard-driver William Macaslang last July.

Tolentin refused to comment on the two officials’ absence.

PRO 7 Director Debold Sinas earlier said they are investigating some government officials who may have links with the “Tres Marias.”
