KATHRYNN DAWN SY

-

“Saturdays, for me, call for clothes of light material—pieces that allow me to go to casual meetings, be mobile and still spell “weekend.” So, I chose this ensemble. The highlights of this outfit are probably the statement basket bag that’s both beautiful and functional, and this flowy silk skirt with an asymmetrical hem whose color I’ve been loving this past season. The white top makes it look fresh while the choice of footwear strikes a balance between island and urban; resort and city. My signature style is effortless chic with a dose of boho. I like mixing classy relaxed pieces with classic, clean or tailored cuts.”

Check out Kathrynn’s style tips:

1. Comfort is key. Style is great but when it meets comfort, you’ll exude more confidence and you’re more productive!

2. Find your style. Go for pieces that spark joy in your soul and work with these pieces. Go for outfits that showcase your personality and how you want to present yourself.

3. Accentuate your features and balance off the rest. All of us have different body types and we each have key features. If you have a small waist, show it off with a high-waist bottom. Not so small waist? Look for cuts that clinch the waist or have more volume at the top and bottom to create an “hour glass.”

4. Know the silhouettes and colors that suit you. Being able to choose silhouettes stem from a good knowledge of your body type, so this tip is related to number three. As for color, pick hues and tones which bring out the natural beauty of your skin complexion. Earth stones usually make morena skin appear golden so I tend to gravitate toward them.

5. Have fun while at it! Fashion is a powerful tool for self-representation, but it’s also a personal creative outlet. There are guiding principles but at the end of the day, what you wear is the one thing you have full control over. So enjoy it!
