Maayo introduces ‘Flavors of the World’

- B. QUILO S / CHRISTIAN

The Maayo brand is known for providing an experience that seamlessly melds wellness and hospitality. Maayo Hotel introduces “Flavors of the World,” a daily dinner buffet where one can taste exquisite food and experience heartfelt service at Uma Restaurant.

Prior to the launch of this new concept, the dinner buffet was held only on weekends. With “Flavors of the World,” guests can now partake in an international feast every day at Maayo Hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Uma. With a new executive chef behind the kitchen, Luigi Mangubat, Uma’s food selections are refreshed and diversified.

The buffet spread includes soups, a Japanese station, a salad bar, cold cuts and cheese smorgasbord, main courses, live cooking stations for seafood, noodle soup and pasta, a carving station and a wide array of desserts which include Maayo Hotel’s homemade ice cream. In line with Maayo’s branding as a wellness hotel, no MSG (monosodium glutamate) is added to any of the dishes in the buffet. Also, 80 percent of the ingredients used are certified organic.

Themed nights are BBQ Nights on Tuesday, Seafood Nights on Saturday and Barrio Fiesta (highlighting Cebuano fare) on Sunday. On weekends, the dinner buffet is made more special with the addition of an edible centerpiece, the Maayo Lechon: an organic roasted pig with a twist—it’s stuffed with a whole native chicken!

“Aside from the food, one of the highlights at Uma is the service. We always see to it that we give our guests a ‘wow’ experience,” said Uma Restaurant outlet manager Ervic Ponce.

Rates are P599++ per person on weekdays and P699 per person on weekends. Prices are inclusive of free-flowing drinks.

Dinner buffet is open from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Uma Restaurant is on the lobby level of Maayo Hotel Cebu.
