Over P2.2 million worth of illegal drugs was confiscated by police in different drug operations in Cebu City last Saturday dawn, Nov. 10.

At 2:30 a.m., Jowelyn Gastador Compuesto, 26, was arrested in Sitio Patag, Barangay Buot.

The Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of the Cebu City Police Office, headed by Chief Insp. Chuck Barandog, confiscated around 30 grams of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu following a buy-bust operation against Compuesto. The contraband was worth P354,000.

Barandog said that Compuesto had the capability of disposing 50 grams of shabu every week in the mountain barangays. Her name came up when some illegal drug users were recently arrested. Police also learned that Compuesto is the source of illegal drugs in Buot’s neighboring barangays.

Police are still investigating Compuesto’s supplier since the woman is not talking.

At 5 a.m. of the same day, the DEU also arrested a newly identified high-value target, 35-yearold Joey Rafael Rallos, on Jakosalem St., just behind the Sacred Heart Church.

Confiscated from Rallos was 155 grams of shabu worth P1,890,000.

Barandog said that Rallos’ supply came from Manila. Rallos could dispose of half a kilo of shabu every week even when he was only recently identified as a player in the illegal drugs business.

“Siya ang nagdistribute sa Cebu north ug sa bukid sa north sa Cebu City, apil pud Mandaue and LapuLapu. So dako gyud ni siya (He supplies the north in Cebu and the northern barangays of Cebu City, as well as Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu cities. He’s a big-time pusher),” said Barandog.

Police are also looking at Rallos’ background, if he is involved with a group considering the amount of drugs police recovered from Rallos.
