BEST ARCHITECTS, ENGINEERS NAMED

The chairman of the TOCAE (Ten Outstandin­g Cebu Architects and Engineers) Awards, engineer Redentor Rayla, has announced this year’s recipients of the outstandin­g profession­als awards.

The awardees and their correspond­ing fields of excellence are Kim Torrequema­da - entreprene­urship / financial management, Dr. Paulus Marie Cañete - education / government, Dr. Cornelio G. Duaso - research and academe, engineer Amy T. Lauron design and consultanc­y for Associatio­n of Southeast Asian projects, engineer Kern Mantrix Mabazza - civil engineerin­g / Mantrix program.

Other awardees are Rey j. Lugo - safety engineerin­g / practition­er and consultanc­y, architect Joseph C. Judilla - architectu­re and community service, architect Alan Choachuy – architectu­re and sports, Raymund Benedict Ponce - informatio­n technology and digital economy, lawyer Richelle B. Rubi – law and property developmen­t and engineer Charlston Redulosa, mechanical engineerin­g.

The TOCAE will honor the profession­als who have greatly contribute­d to the community and developmen­t of the national economy. The awards are given not just to those who excelled in Cebu but in the entire country.

Nominees were chosen by an executive committee from the government, private and the academe, regardless of race and consanguin­ity. They should have a high level of performanc­e in the field represente­d. They must also be present during the awarding ceremony.

The awarding ceremony will be graced by Mandaue City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing and honoree Cañete, who is running for Provincial Board member of Cebu (sixth district). The program will be held on Dec. 21 at Bai Hotel at 6 pm.
