Tip us on cop killers: Tumulak

-

Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak is urging the public to help in verifying and reporting anything they know about big-time pushers hiring hit squads to kill police officers in Talisay City and other parts of Cebu.

In an interview, Tumulak said the information is very serious and should be verified.

“We urge also the public to assist by giving information to our law enforcement agency because the war on drugs is not only for the law enforcement agency but for the public itself, so we need to help each other,” he said.

Tumulak, who is the deputy mayor for police matters, said the public should not allow that police officers will be harmed by the pushers because the former are mandated to serve and protect the public.

So far, there is no active police officer of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) who was shot because of any drug-related incident, said Tumulak.

The information received by Cebu Provincial Police Office Director Manuel Abrugena said that each policeman killed is worth P20,000.

Abrugena already ordered Talisay City Police Chief Marlu Conag to validate the report on drug groups that are pooling money to pay assassins as a way of stopping their anti-narcotics operations.

In Cebu City, Tumulak said the CCPO should continue its intensified efforts against illegal drugs, particularly that the Christmas season is near.

“Drug operation, they have to intensify drug operation and the City Government is willing to support the police, in whatever we can give, as long as mandated by law,” he said.
