Capitol workers honored

-

Close to 300 employees of the Cebu Provincial Government were recognized for their long service and good performance.

The Provincial Human Resource Management Office, on the other hand, started processing the renewal of contracts for job order employees at the Capitol, in time for the next fiscal year.

Around 286 Capitol employees were given loyalty awards from the Civil Service Commission, under its Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (Praise).

Employees were awarded based on their length of service, particularly those serving the Capitol for 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years.

Majority of the awardees or around 194 employees were recognized for serving the Provincial Government for 25 years.

Two employees were also recognized for serving the Provincial Government for 40 years.

Aside from their length of service, around 106 Capitol employees were also given recognition and incentives for not being late for work since the beginning of the year.

Also, 191 were recognized for not using their sick leaves for the entire year.

Also, 24 employees who are set to retire next year were recognized for their long years of service.

Bhobby Nacorda, Provincial Human Resource Office head, said the awardees should serve as an inspiration for new and young Capitol employees.

Included in those recognized during the Praise Awards is Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Mary Rose Vincoy, who was recognized as one of 10 people nationwide that received the Presidential Dangal ng Bayan at Malacañang last September.
