Pay realty taxes at the mall: City
Want to pay real property taxes? Don’t go to Cebu City Hall.
Starting on Monday, Feb. 18, all transactions involving payment of real property tax (RPT) will be done at its satellite office in Robinsons Galleria Cebu. No transaction will be entertained in City Hall.
Acting City Treasurer Arlene Rentuza said that for this year, they expect to collect P1 billion in taxes from real properties. There are around 250,000 real properties in the city, and the number is rising.
“Our real properties are increasing because there are several condominiums in the city that have already been transferred to individual owners,” she said.
Rentuza said that from Feb. 18 to April 2, the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) will be receiving payments related to RPT in Robinsons Galleria Cebu only. The mall office will operate Mondays to Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“We really have a limited space here in City Hall, and more taxpayers are paying their dues. We also anticipate that by March 31, which is the deadline for the payment of the first quarter, more people will troop so we prepared a place where taxpayers can pay comfortably,” she said.
Rentuza said it is the first time that the City is accepting RPT payments outside City Hall just like the process of paying the business tax. Payments for RPT transfer tax and RPT tax clearance will also be accepted in Robinsons Galleria.
