Duke Frasco distributes 5 ambulance units to 5th District
Residents of four localities in the fifth district of Cebu will benefit from four ambulance units that former Liloan mayor and current Cebu Port Authority (CPA) commissioner Duke Frasco distributed on the first week of February.
The first gentleman of incumbent Liloan Mayor Christina Garcia Frasco purchased the units from his personal funds.
Danao City, Liloan, Carmen and Borbon each received an ambulance from Frasco. The CPA official also gave an ambulance to Barangay Taytay, Danao City last December.
These northern towns and Danao City are within Cebu’s fifth legislative district where Frasco is running for a seat in the House of Representatives.
Health tops the priority of Frasco, who has been doing the rounds in the northern municipalities and the four-town Camotes group of islands since October last year to conduct free medical missions.
“The priority work of government should be to able to give access to quality health services for those who need it most... The people in the fifth district deserve more than the bare minimum they have been getting,” he said.
During the medical missions, the patients were mostly children and senior citizens.
Doctors gave free medical consultations and vitamin supplements, as well as antibiotics and medicines for hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, among others. Frasco sponsored the free medicines.
Frasco stressed that no government money was spent to purchase the ambulances and intends to distribute more ambulances/vehicles in other towns in the 5th district.
He seeks to replicate in the whole district the programs that he initiated in Liloan that are now being continued by his wife, Mayor Frasco. These include the local pension for senior citizens, the scholarship grants that include students in private universities and local government unit-initiated monetary benefits for frontliners like the barangay health workers and barangay tanods.
