For another aspect of its sustainability campaign, and part of the Catholic Church’s worldwide celebration of the apostle Santiago’s life, the Nature’s Legacy team, together with its corporate leaders and associates, met the relic of St. James in Compostela, Cebu. This ceremony made the town part of the annual Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage which leads thousands to the saint’s burial site in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

While Nature’s Legacy is a global manufacturer of home furnishings and garden accessories, and a Maker of Sustainable and Innovative Materials, it also provides a livelihood for the local community and is an active partner of the parish in Compostela, Cebu, where its 10-hectare factory is situated. In partnership with Rev. Fr. Vhen Jesus Fernandez, using its core material innovation, Stonecast, Nature’s Legacy has created and designed a Scallop Shell Case that houses the St. James’ relic at the Compostela Parish. Many other ornaments inside the parish are also made by the sustainable manufacturer.

Founded in 1996 by husband and wife team Pete and Cathy Delantar, the company has always implemented in sustaining the quality and craftsmanship of their work.

“The human factor is really vital in our business, so we try to nurture everyone in the value chain,” affirms Cathy.

Nature’s Legacy exemplifies that a strong belief system in your own faith and in your people, can reap tangible rewards, even in the corporate setting.

“Call it feeling or faith, but we’ve seen the changes in our people when they’re part of something significant like this,” said Elaine Gador, head of corporate affairs.
