SOLUTO: KIA’S ‘AWESOME LITTLE CAR’
The subcompact sedan is one of three new models Kia will unveil this year, with the second one slated to be launched next month
After lying low for quite some time due to a transition, Kia Philippines makes a grand comeback —this time as part of the Ayala family under AC Automotive— with a slew of brand-new models.
Kia held a re-launching party last Feb. 15 at The Gallery in Ayala Center Cebu, wherein it introduced the all-new Soluto—Kia’s “awesome little car” as it is called —an entry-level vehicle that offers great value. The latest Soluto was on display for the entire weekend.
During the event, Kia Philippines president Manny Aligada said: “This is a celebration of the new partnership between Kia Philippines, Ayala and Gateway. We hope this partnership will bring out the best in the automotive industry.” In Cebu, Kia is distributed in partnership with Gateway Motors Group.
At a glance, the new subcompact sedan seems like the perfect car for city driving. It’s modern, sleek and compact and its interiors have ample space for five passengers to fit comfortably in plush seating, classic cloth for the LX and lush leatherette for the EX variant.
Its seven-inch touchscreen for multimedia (and for the reverse camera) has Bluetooth, Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity with voice control, plus USB and Aux-in ports to plug your mobile device in.
In terms of safety features, the Soluto has the standard set: SRS airbags for the front passengers, anti-lock brake system, anti-theft system and child lock for the rear doors.
The Soluto is available in fivespeed manual and four-speed automatic transmission. It is available in Clear White, Blue Stream, Titanium Silver, Aurora Black Pearl and Marcato Red (for the EX variant only).
In true Kia fashion and its “Power to Surprise,” the Soluto is just the first of three new models to be unveiled this year as part of its return in the Philippine market. The second model will be revealed next month.
