Lover of ‘shabu queen’ a cop, AWOL after her arrest
The Police Regional Office 7 is on the lookout for a missing police officer who reportedly has not reported to work since Sunday, March 3, after the arrest of suspected “shabu queen” Jocelyn Encila.
PRO 7 Chief Debold Sinas said the police officer is reportedly Encila’s live-in partner for three years now and may have given protection to her and other big-time drug suppliers in Central Visayas.
Because of this, Sinas ordered his intelligence operatives to look for the police officer whose identity remains confidential for now.
Sinas said they were able to determine that the police officer and Encila were lovers after checking her cellular phone, which was confiscated during the operation last Sunday.
He clarified, though, that they are still verifying allegations of the police officer’s involvement in the illegal drug trade and his role in Encila’s operations.
“I’m currently coordinating with our Regional Intelligence Division to determine if Jocelyn (Encila) is using her lover to protect her illegal operations,” Sinas said.
The still-unidentified police officer, a Police Officer 2, is assigned at the PRO 7 headquarters and has been in the service for seven years.
Sinas also disclosed that Encila would leave with her sister, Janelyn, the illegal drugs after they are delivered by her supplier to her house in Consolacion. Janelyn would then distribute these.
Janelyn was gunned down by unidentified men in Barangay Labogon, Mandaue City on Wednesday, March 6.
Sinas confirmed that Janelyn was never included in PRO 7’s target list and they only knew of her connection to Encila after she was killed.
He said Janelyn was not involved in Encila’s alleged transactions with Rustico Ygot, a suspected drug supplier who is detained at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.
The Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) is still conducting a profiling of Encila’s family.
Sinas said Encila has started providing them with information on her illegal drug connections in the region.
The PRO 7 director, however, declined from disclosing what Encila told the police.
